King Abdullah Bin Al-Hussein Mosque
Any visitor to Jordan cannot help but admire the King Abdullah Mosque, the largest in the Kingdom.
Standing 32 metres tall and 32 metres in diameter, the impressive dome, with its 60 metre tall minarets at its sides, dominates the skyline for miles around.
The main mosque accommodates a total of 3.500 worshipper, whilst the surrounding priestly holds a further 5.500 people. Up to 500 ladies may worship in the attractively designed separate enclosure.
The additional main areas all provide spacious accommodation, from the Royal Pavilion, the 750 seat Seminar Hall and the Koran School for 120 students in four classes, to the public library housing 150 readers.
Four sub-committee halls, each with a seating capacity for 400 persons, administration offices and two apartments for the staff, complete the internal facilities. And for easy parking, the three-storey underground car park holds 500 cars.
